251. Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of staff employed in his constituency office; the salary scales of those staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. McCreevy): There are 6 staff employed in my constituency office. Their salary scales are as follows:—

1 Special Adviser	£20,681 per annum (single point)
1 Personal Secretary	£141.14 — £269.55 weekly plus allowance of £14.93 per week
1 Staff Officer	£13,301 — £16,501 per annum
2 Clerical Officers	£143.21 — £254.86 weekly
1 Clerical Assistant/Typist	£141.94 — £210.29 weekly
