68. Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Defence the number of staff employed in his constituency office; the salary scales of those staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Wilson): The number of staff in my constituency at my Department is six. Their salary scales are as follows:

Clerical Assistant — An 11-point scale from £141.94 (under 19 years) to £210.29 per week.

Clerical Officer — A 15-point scale from £143.21 (under 19 years) to £254.86 per week.

Assistant Principal — A 6-point scale from £21,595 to £25,559 per annum.
