60. Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received the report from the consultants on the future of the Industrial Credit Corporation which was commissioned on 11 July 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Finance (Mr. B. Ahern): The report of the consultants referred to was received on 19 September 1990.

As indicated by my predecessor in reply to a PQ on 22 May 1991, the consultants were subsequently requested to consider the option of a sale of the State's shareholding in the ICC.

As I indicated to the House on 3 March last, no suitable proposal has emerged. I am keeping the matter under review.
