Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if he will approve the code drafted by the special Government committee on crowd control and public safety. Mr. Deenihan Mr. Deenihan 1841 89. Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister [1841] for Education if he intends to bring forward legislation to put in place new safety regulations at sports stadiums. Mr. Deenihan Mr. Deenihan 90. Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if he has any plans to set up a national authority to oversee the implementation of new safety standards at sports grounds. Minister for Education (Mr. S. Brennan) Seamus Brennan Minister for Education (Mr. S. Brennan): I propose to take Questions Nos. 88, 89 and 90 together. I am awaiting the submission of the Code of Practice on Safety at Sports Grounds which is being prepared. The recommendations of the Hamilton Committee on Public Safety and Crowd Control including the setting up of a National Authority for Safety in Sports Grounds and the introduction of new legislation is being considered by my Department, the Departments of the Environment and the Department of Justice.
