230. Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Health whether he has received the report on the temporary committal of a person (details supplied) which was the subject of the adjournment debate in Dáil Éireann on 21 May 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Connell): I have received the report of the inspector of mental hospitals on the circumstances surrounding the temporary committal of the person referred to in the Deputy's question. As the clinical details of the person concerned and members of her family form an integral part of the report it would be inappropriate for me to make a statement on the matter.

I will communicate separately with the Deputy on this matter.
