Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

177. Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Health if he will outline when (1) an application for a disabled person's maintenance allowance was submitted by a person (details supplied) in County Cork, (2) the file was sent to the community welfare officer, (3) the file was sent to the medical officer, (4) the report was subsequently returned to the health board and (5) payment is likely to issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Connell): Payment of disabled persons maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the Chief Executive Officer, Southern Health Board, with a request that he reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
