140. Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice when he proposes to introduce new legislation on juvenile justice which has been promised.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Flynn): Work is proceeding in my Department on a Juvenile Justice Bill which will replace the Children Act, 1908. It is my intention to have the appropriate legislation introduced as soon as possible but it is not possible for me at present to give a precise indication as to when the Bill will be ready.
