[2444] 58. Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education if he has any proposals to change the terms and conditions of the vocational education committee scholarship scheme to include persons who have obtained a diploma in regional technical colleges and who wish to advance their education to a degree level.

Minister for Education (Mr. S. Brennan): The vocational education committee scholarships scheme already provides for the award of scholarships to national diploma holders who are progressing to degree level courses, subject to their obtaining a two year exemption from the degree course and their satisfying the other conditions of the scholarships scheme.

I have no proposals to change these conditions.
