Written Answers. - Business Permission Application.

[917] 133. Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the special circumstances of a person (details supplied) who has applied for business permission in the State, he will reconsider his decision to defer the request particularly as (1) he has arranged considerable exports for Irish firms since 1984, (2) he is facilitating employment for Irish people directly and indirectly, (3) he has an excellent record with Irish firms, (4) he is generating business which necessitates the setting up of a company base and the many other factors already communicated to his Department.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Burke): The necessary inquiries which are made into all such applications have not yet been completed. There is no question of a decision having been taken to defer consideration of the application. The applicant's solicitors will be informed of the outcome of their client's application as soon as possible.
