Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Finance whether, in his proposed decentralisation of the Central Statistics Office to Cork, he will outline the levels of staff which will be included; whether the transfers will be voluntary for all administrative staff; if it will be voluntary for statisticians; and, if only part of the staff agree to move, if half the work will be done in Dublin and the other half in Cork. The transfer will be voluntary for all grades. Certain residual functions will be retained in Dublin and the number of staff concerned, which will be small, has yet to be decided.
