75. Mrs. Taylor-Quinn asked the Minister for Defence the frequency and duration of helicopter activity from the [2426] naval vessel LE Eithne in the years 1989-91 inclusive.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Daly): In the period 1 January 1989 to date, Air Corps helicopter activity with LE Eithne took place on 29 occasions. The duration of this activity was 91 hours and 30 minutes. Arrangements are in hand to locate a Dauphin helicopter at Cork, primarily for operation with LE Eithne and to be based in Cork when not embarked on that ship.
