Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education if she has received a request from the board of management of Lyrecrompane national school, County Kerry for her consent to the building of a utility/function room on the school grounds; and if she is prepared to accede to give approval as a matter of urgency.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): My Department have only recently received a request from the authorities of Lyrecrompane national school, County Kerry for permission to build a community centre on the school site. This matter is being considered in my Department and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date.
