77. Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on an incident which occurred on Saturday 18 May whereby a person complaining of a heart condition was taken to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9 in an accident and emergency ambulance at a time when the cardiac unit was lying unmanned and unattended in the grounds of the hospital in question; and, in view of this, if he will arrange to have this unacceptable situation resolved particularly as lives are at risk.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): If the Deputy provides me with details about this incident I will certainly have the matter investigated and reply directly to the Deputy.
