Dáil Éireann - Volume 408 - 23 May, 1991 Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Harbour Plan. Mr. Garland Mr. Garland 2352 54. Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the plans for two extra marinas at Dún Laoghaire in addition to the marinas planned for the Carlisle Pier and the two yacht clubs will grossly over-supply the potential market as assessed by the interim harbour board's own financial advisers and that the assets will be left largely unused for [2352] many years, despite the excessive cost of providing them, which cannot be met from the projected marina revenue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Marine (Mr. Wilson) John P. Wilson Minister for the Marine (Mr. Wilson): The Interim Dún Laoghaire Harbour Board have identified in their draft development plan for Dún Laoghaire Harbour, a number of locations suitable for the location of marina facilities within the harbour. This plan is at present the subject of a public consultation process. I look forward to receiving the views of the board on all aspects of their proposals having regard, inter alia, to any submissions they may receive as part of the consultation process.
