Dáil Éireann - Volume 408 - 14 May, 1991 Written Answers. - Processing of Grants. Mr. McGrath Mr. McGrath 86. Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if applications for special beef premia and suckler cow grants are processed independently; if non-compliance with the regulations on one scheme will disqualify a farmer from any other scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Mr. McGrath Mr. McGrath 805 [805] 88. Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of applications for the special beef premium which have been (a) disqualified and (b) paid at a reduced amount in the current year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy) Michael O'Kennedy Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): I propose taking Questions Nos. 86 and 88 together. Applications under the special beef premium and suckler cow premium schemes are processed separately by my Department and failure to comply with the requirements of one scheme has no particular bearing on eligibility under the other scheme unless an applicant fails to comply with a requirement that is common to both schemes. It is too early yet to say how many 1990 special beef premium scheme applications will be disqualified or will result in a reduced payment. I am looking very closely at the problems which have arisen to see whether there is any possible solution. Dáil Éireann 408 Written Answers. Processing of Grants. Questions 19910514
