Dáil Éireann - Volume 407 - 23 April, 1991

Written Answers. - Water Conservation.

182. Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for the Environment whether current building control regulations specify the installation of equipment to facilitate water conservation; and if not, if he has any plans to incorporate such provisions.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn): Building regulations to be made under section 3 of the Building Control Act, 1990, will make provision for securing the health, safety and welfare of persons, for the special needs of disabled persons and for the conservation of fuel and energy. I have no proposals at this stage to include in these regulations specific measures relating to water conservation.
