Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the development programme envisaged for St. Loman's Hospital, County Dublin over the next ten years; if it is intended to deinstitutionalise all its resident patients; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon) Rory O'Hanlon Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): The Eastern Health Board have been developing a range of community psychiatric facilities in the catchment area served by St. Loman's Hospital in accordance with the policy outlined in the Report on the Development of psychiatric Services — Planning for the Future. The Programme for Economic and Social Progress provides for the further development of the psychiatric services and health boards have been asked to prepare detailed strategic plans for the implementation of the provisions contained in the programme. As their plan, the Eastern Health Board are currently reviewing the future organisation of psychiatric services at St. Loman's Hospital. Dáil Éireann 407 Written Answers.
