190. Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education if she has satisfied herself with the security arrangements for the Ireland/England European cup soccer match; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): Responsibility for the security arrangements for the European Championship qualifying game between Ireland and England at Wembley on 27 March, 1991, is a matter for the British authorities.

In discussions which the Minister of State at my Department had with the British authorities on two occasions he has been assured that every effort will be made to ensure that the game takes place without any danger to the safety and security of the supporters.
