114. Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total number of applicants as hardship cases under the milk quota appeals tribunal; and the number that were successful.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): The milk quota appeals tribunal, appointed by me to carry out the task of allocating the one million gallon reserve which I set aside for special hardship cases, received some 5,000 applications for additional quota. The number of applicants who were allocated quotas by the tribunal was 1,480.
