Dáil Éireann - Volume 402 - 21 November, 1990

Written Answers. - Heating Systems.

83. Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider requesting local authorities to have a radiator installed in the single bedroom of old people's dwellings which are attached to local authority housing developments in rural areas, as a backboiler heating system is already in place in these houses.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): In the case of new dwellings for elderly persons, the provision of radiators is allowed when proposed by local authorities. In existing houses it is a matter for the authorities themselves as they are entirely responsible for the facilities in their dwellings.
