70. Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the acreage of land bought by non-nationals in each of the years from 1980 to 1989.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): As consent under Section 45 of the Land Act, 1965, is not required for the purchase of land by EC nationals who are exercising the right of establishment or non-nationals who are purchasing less than two hectares for private residential purposes, a complete record of all the land purchased by non-nationals is not available.

The following are particulars of land purchased by non-nationals in the years 1980-88 where consent under the Land Act, 1965, has been given:
