Written Answers. - Conserva Stoves Replacement.

155. Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to reply to Dublin Corporation regarding their submission for funding for the replacement of conserva stoves; and, given that these stoves have been proved to be totally unsafe and unhealthy, if he will now give this matter urgent consideration and direct Dublin Corporation to replace these stoves immediately pending approval of funding from his Department.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): The corporation were informed last September that if they wished to carry out these works under the Department's remedial works scheme they should submit the necessary documentation including technical and cost details.
