Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the consideration which has been given to implementing the joint Dublin County Council and Bord Fáilte proposal for an appropriate use of Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin 16; and if he will outline the view of the Commissioners of Public Works on this proposal.

Minister for Tourism and Transport (Mr. S. Brennan): I understand that consultations between these three agencies on the best way of progressing proposals for the restoration and development of Rathfarnham Castle and its grounds as a [122] quality tourist product are nearing completion. I expect to be in a position to announce details of an agreed development plan early next month.
