Dáil Éireann - Volume 400 - 27 June, 1990 Written Answers. - Drug Cost Subsidisation Scheme. Mr. Barry Mr. Barry 1161 248. Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Health when he proposes to introduce [1161] the subsidy scheme for asthmatics, as promised by him in February 1989. Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon) Rory O'Hanlon Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): I presume that the Deputy is referring to the introduction of the proposed new drug cost subsidisation scheme. Following the recent rejection by the Irish Pharmaceutical Union of my proposals for the new scheme discussions were resumed immediately with representatives of the Irish Pharmaceutical Union. The contractors committee of the union is now about to circulate a revised draft agreement to its members with a recommendation that it be accepted. I expect the result of the members ballot in the matter within the next two weeks. Dáil Éireann 400 Written Answers. Drug Cost Subsidisation Scheme. Questions 19900627
