36. Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Defence if he will report on the recent industrial dispute within his Department which has affected the payment of various allowances to a range of Army personnel.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Lenihan): The Civil and Public Service Union which represents clerical and staff officer grades have been taking limited industrial action in furtherance of a claim for certain upgradings of existing posts. Efforts to resolve the issue are continuing.
