99. Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice whether information was obtained from the Garda computer regarding persons (details supplied) in Dublin 1 during the past five weeks; by whom the information was sought; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Burke): I am informed by the Garda authorities that they have no record of any request for the release of personal data in respect of the persons mentioned in the question. However, I have asked the Garda Commissioner to have an investigation carried out into the question of whether an unauthorised disclosure of such data was made in this case.
