84. Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he has plans to increase the number of officials working on the pilot study of the TB eradication [1352] scheme being carried out in Offaly; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): I assume the Deputy is referring to the badger removal project in east Offaly I understand from the director of ERAD that this project only requires additional staffing in the spring and autumn of each of the three years of the study. The extra staff required are made available by temporary transfer from other areas.
