Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): Under my Department's scheme for the employment of caretakers [2378] in national schools the following are the numbers employed for the county and years in question: 1980, 6; 1981, 6; 1982, 7; 1983, 7; 1984, 7; 1985, 7; 1986, 6; 1987, 6; 1988, 6; 1989, 6; 1990, 6.

Other national schools in County Westmeath as in other counties have employed such staff under the social employment scheme administered by FÁS.
