Ahern asked the Minister for Education if she will give a breakdown of the financial assistance estimated to be spent on improvements at Dundalk Regional Technical College, County Louth, in the operational programme for Structural Funds administered by her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): The EC Structural Funds programme includes a programme aimed at enhancing facilities in the regional technical colleges. As discussions are at present taking place between my Department and the college authorities in relation to the programme, I am not in a [1017] position at present to indicate the estimated amount to be expended under the programme on improving facilities at Dundalk Regional Technical College.
