Written Answers. - Appointment of Remedial Teachers.

178. Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education when a remedial teacher will be appointed to Ghoirt Leitreach national school, County Leitrim.

179. Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Education if it is her intention to appoint a remedial teacher at primary school level to service the needs of children in the Ballyroan/Abbeyleix area of County Laois.

180. Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education if she will allocate a remedial teaching post to St. John's Infants School, Kilkenny; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

181. Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education when the appointment of a remedial teacher will be sanctioned for the Presentation Primary School, Clonmel, County Tipperary; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): I propose to take Questions Nos. 178 to 181 inclusive together.

My Department will be in communication very shortly with the schools [1064] to which the additional remedial posts which I announced recently are to be allocated. I am not in a position to indicate at this point if the schools referred to by the Deputies will be included among these.
