Dáil Éireann - Volume 393 - 21 November, 1989

Written Answers. - Local Government House Building Programme.

147. Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for the Environment the moneys allocated by his Department to each local authority for the purpose of new house building in 1989; and the estimated number which will be built by each local authority in 1989.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): I would [1050] refer the Deputy to the reply to Question No. 34 of 4 May 1989 in relation to the financing of new house starts. Details of new dwellings built by each local authority in 1989 are not due to be notified to my Department until after the year's end. However, the total number of such dwellings nationally is expected to be in the region of 900.
