263. Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if she has received a report from the Higher Education Authority, pursuant to paragraph 2.17 of the Programme for Action in Education, on the part which distance education might play in supplying courses of third level education.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): The Higher Education Authority provides an interim report in 1985. A fuller evaluation will be undertaken when there has been experience of one full cycle of the degree course which will be in 1990-91.
