Dáil Éireann - Volume 393 - 14 November, 1989 Written Answers. - Kilkenny Television Reception. Mr. Hogan Mr. Hogan 172. Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Communications if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the residents of Carrickmourne, Thomastown, County Kilkenny are unable to avail of RTE television; if he will indicate if this service can be facilitated for the residents of this area under the new MMDS system; and if he will make a statement of the matter. Minister for Communications (Mr. Burke) Minister for Communications (Mr. Burke) Minister for Communications (Mr. Burke): The improvement of reception of RTE television programmes is a matter for RTE who are aware that television reception in parts of the Carrickmourne district, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, is less than satisfactory due to the hilly nature of the terrain in the area. RTE are prepared to carry out a feasibility study for a community owned self-help TV scheme for Carrickmourne should the community indicate interest in the scheme to RTE. It will be a matter for MMDS operators to decide whether they wish to carry RTE services. Dáil Éireann 393 Written Answers. Kilkenny Television Reception. Questions 19891114
