Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends making finances available for the provision of a new bridge over the Barrow at Carlow, now that its need has become even greater owing to the arrival of beet lorries from the Thurles area of County Tipperary. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn) Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn) Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn): I presume the Deputy is referring to a proposal which was recently received in my Department from Carlow County Council to provide a new road link between the N9 and N80 routes to the north of Carlow town. The proposal, which includes a new bridge crossing over the river Barrow, is currently being examined in the Department. The provision of funds for the project will be considered when the road grant allocations for 1990 are being determined. Dáil Éireann 393 Written Answers. Barrow (Carlow) Bridge. Questions 19891114
