48. Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Energy if he had any discussions with Coillte Teoranta about their acquisition of land policy and their rate of replanting.

Minister for Energy (Mr. Molloy): I am aware that both Coillte Teoranta's acquisition and planting policy are based on an annual planting target of at least [1634] 10,000 hectares, a figure which has been achieved for 1989 and will at least be equalled in 1990. I am satisfied with this programme as an important element in achieving the overall target in the national plan of a national planting rate of 30,000 hectares by 1993. While I have not had any specific discussions with Coillte Teoranta on the matter, my Department keep in touch with the company continuously on their developing investment programme.
