Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the development proposals submitted by the RACE Centre, Kildare; her views on whether the proposal represents a desirable development suitable for funding from the proceeds of the national lottery; if she will give favourable consideration to the application; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

[1333] Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): The provision of funds for the RACE Centre, Kildare, would not be considered eligible for grant-aid as my Department's capital grant scheme is restricted to the provision of recreational facilities by voluntary community organisations.
