Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the Branganstown/Kilcock group water scheme, County Kildare; whether final designs have been agreed; [1324] if not, the items still awaiting resolution; the amount of grant for which the group qualifies; when the scheme will be sanctioned; and if he will make a statement on the matter, with particular reference to a starting date.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): Plans recently submitted by the group have been forwarded to Kildare County Council for approval. When this approval is received and membership details are available from the group, consideration can be given to the allocation of grants. It will then be a matter for the group to determine when work on the scheme will commence.
