52. Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health if funds from the national lottery will be allocated from his Department towards the Irish Society for Crohn's Disease and Colitis as has been applied for; and, if so, when.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): I have received a large number of requests for assistance from the national lottery proceeds available for health services including one from the Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn's Disease. Unfortunately in view of the limited funds available I will not be in a position to accede to all the requests received. However, the application referred to by the Deputy is still under active consideration and I expect to reach a final decision shortly.
