31. Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Energy the total number of accidents or incidents involving discharges of radioactive material at British nuclear power stations or other British nuclear installations reported to his Department by the British authorities in the past 12 months; if he has plans for any further discussions with the British authorities regarding these incidents; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Energy (Mr. Smith): I have nothing to add to my reply to Questions Nos. 34 and 44 on 24 November, 1988 except to state that on occasions where individual notifications require clarification or other follow-up action this takes place between officials promptly.
