150. Mr. Begley asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding Cahirciveen community school, County Kerry, in view of the uncertainty at local level in this regard.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): The existing Presentation secondary and the vocational school at Cahirciveen, and the vocational school at Waterville are to be amalgamated into one community college under the management of County Kerry VEC. The new community college will cater for 700 pupils and the question of acquiring a suitable site is at present being considered in my Department.
