Dáil Éireann - Volume 390 - 16 May, 1989

Written Answers. - Ministerial Regulations.

133. Miss Kennedy asked the Minister for Health whether any legislation sponsored by his Department and passed by the Houses of the Oireachtas requires the issuing of ministerial regulations before becoming fully operational; the date of the passage of any such legislation; and the present position regarding the preparation of the regulations required.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): In view of the extensive range and variety of legislation in the health area it would not be practicable to reply on the basis of an examination of the entire statutory framework relevant to the health services.

I would refer the Deputy to the Index of Statutes, 1922-1982, and Supplements to the Index for the years 1983 to 1985 which are available in the Oireachtas Library. However, if the Deputy were to [110] indicate a specific legislative code I would be prepared to supply the details requested.
