83. Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health the number of consultants and doctors who have received payments of over £5,000 from the VHI since the introduction of withholding tax on 6 June 1988; and the maximum payment made to any individual.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): It is not possible, due to resource and operational constraints, for either the Revenue Commissioners or the Voluntary Health Insurance Board to abstract and compile the information sought by the Deputy.
