109. Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Health the total cost of providing a CAT scanner at Cork Regional Hospital in 1988; if a special allocation was made for this purpose; and the amount of his Department's contributions towards the provision of a CAT scanner at the Mercy Hospital, Cork.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): The total cost of providing a CT scanner at Cork Regional Hospital in 1988 was £647,500. The cost was met from funds specially allocated for this purpose by my Department.

There was no contribution made by my Department towards the cost of providing a CT scanner at the Mercy Hospital.
