86. Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for the Environment whether there are any [75] plans to extend the local improvement scheme to non-disadvantaged areas.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn): Since 1984, grants under the local improvements scheme have been confined to those areas of the country coming within the scope of the EC western package. I have no proposals for changing this arrangement.
