Written Answers. - Ballymun (Dublin) Renewal Project.

[1009] 73. Mr. Tunney, Mr. M. Barrett, Proinsias De Rossa and Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for the Environment the present state of progress on his approval and financial commitment to the urgent phase 1 of the Ballymun Renewal Project, Dublin 11.

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment (Mr. Connolly): Technical documentation submitted by Dublin Corporation in respect of the proposed refurbishment works to Ballymun estate is at present being examined in the Department and a decision in the matter will be made as soon as possible. An allocation of £4.4 million has been made to the corporation in 1989 under the remedial works scheme in respect of priority refurbishment proposals, including this estate. The apportionment of the allocation is a matter for the corporation.
