[544] 32. Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will issue to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 who has applied for such rebate some months ago and who was assured before Christmas that this rebate would issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Reynolds): The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that a cheque in settlement of the taxpayer's claim for repayment of tax for 1987-88 will be issued to her in the near future. The delay in dealing with the claim was occasioned by difficulties experienced in securing from the taxpayer's former employer replies to queries raised by the inspector of taxes.
