[2035] 221. Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Defence the anticipated cost of providing long-range helicopters at Shannon, County Clare.

Minister for Defence (Mr. Noonan, Limerick West): A report recently furnished by an interdepartmental committee on the question of the deployment of search and rescue helicopters is being studied in my Department and the Department of the Marine. Pending a decision on the issues raised in the report, I am not in a position to furnish the information sought.
