66. Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will make a statement on allegations of irregularities at Bailieboro Co-op., County Cavan, as outlined in a report (details supplied) and the action which is being taken by him in this matter.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): The media report, referred to by the Deputy, covered a number of alleged irregularities, some of which occurred in Northern Ireland. Issues related to these reports are being investigated by the Garda authorities. There is no evidence at present to indicate that irregularities in relation to Community schemes operated by my Department have occurred.
