149. Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Health if he will outline his plans for the future of the special secure unit within the grounds of the Central Mental Hospital, Dundrum, Dublin 14; the total cost of the construction of the unit; and the total maintenance costs since it was built.

Minister for Health (Dr. O'Hanlon): The future use of the new unit is still under consideration. The total capital cost was £2.57 million and the maintenance cost up to end 1987 was £13,346.
