140. Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider extending the new 1988 tenant purchase scheme recently announced to those tenants who are childless couples living in one bedroomed housing units.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Flynn): I assume the Deputy is referring to purpose built dwellings provided for and occupied by elderly persons which are excluded from this as from previous tenant purchase schemes. I do not propose to extend the scheme to include them.
